Guident worked Airspan to build a Private 5G
Network for their testbed in Boca Raton Florida.
Guident is a software development solutions for
autonomous vehicles (AVs), ground-based delivery
drones, and electric vehicles (Evs).
Challenges
Guident’s testbed covers three square miles for
developing, testing and validating different use
cases that require a fast network with low latency. A
reliable network is required to enable a real time
monitoring of the autonomous vehicles to ensure
safe driving operation and preventing potential
accidents before they happen. Guident’s Remote
Monitoring and Control Center (RMCC) controls
the AVs driving performance and collects full road
visibility.
Solution & Benefits
Airspan’s implementation of Private 5G Solution particularly Airspeed has led to Guident filing for its
eighth patent. With this use case, this enabled Guident to provide it’s patented, advanced teleoperation
for autonomous and human-driven vehicles, enhanced customer safety and security in addition to
providing a reliable, low latency connection to any advanced mobile network.
The combination of Airspan solutions and Guident’s RMCC software built a strong foundation for a
more advanced development of autonomous vehicle services and future business opportunities for
Guident. Airspan will focus on providing and enhancing Guident’s connectivity with its innovative 5G
software, hardware and air interface mobility solutions.
