The lab is a critical resource and used by many groups within Airspan, both local and remote, including software development, hardware development, quality assurance (QA), and customer support. This is a hands-on role.   Key Responsibilities Maintain all lab infrastructure, including switches, routers, terminal servers and Linux hosts. General system administration of both Windows and Linux systems. Create, maintain, and delete various IP networks and services (DNS, routes, DHCP servers, etc). Manage physical organization of the lab, rack assignment and cabling. Document the various networks within the lab and produce “How To” procedures for self-service requests. Set and maintain lab safety standards. Work with Airspan Facilities on topics related to the building, power and cooling. Work with Airspan Finance for procurement and equipment purchases. Work within the policies and guidelines of Airspan IT, specifically as they relate to cybersecurity.   Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience with IP networks, Windows, and Linux system administration. Ability to work cross-functionally and balance priorities. Ability to take a high-level requirement and execute to completion. Physical ability to complete tasks such as climbing ladders and pulling cables. Solid knowledge of lab safety standards.   Why Join Us? Conduct new feature, regression, and conformance testing on an agile sprint cadence. Support product development teams across firmware, software, and hardware. Set up and configure Open RAN DU/RU elements and test environments. Troubleshoot and determine root causes of performance issues or test failures. Document test procedures, execution results, and improvement recommendations. Drive continuous improvement of test processes and automation coverage. Collaborate with customers and partners to verify product functionality and ensure seamless interoperability. Provide status updates and communicate results to internal stakeholders.   Key Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes). Working knowledge of wireless technologies and standards (LTE, 5G-NR, 3GPP). Experience with Open RAN components or test tools (e.g., Keysight Open RAN Studio) a plus. Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments. Familiarity with networking concepts (DHCP, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, PTP, SyncE). Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket). Competency in scripting or programming (Python, Shell) and familiarity with XML/RPC interfaces. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Create high-level system requirements and translate them into detailed circuit design specifications. Perform system budgeting, including RF link budgets, power budgets, and thermal heat dissipation budgets. Own and manage the RF frequency planning to ensure optimal system performance. Define the front-end cavity filter duplexor mask to meet system requirements. Assist designers with component selection, considering performance, cost, and part availability. Collaborate with digital design teams to define high-level clock plans and ensure seamless integration between RF and digital subsystems. Act as a design authority and gatekeeper for driving quality into the design process through comprehensive documentation, design review participation, and test data analysis. Oversee environmental, compliance, regulatory, and installation requirements, ensuring that designs meet all applicable standards and guidelines. Engage with customers during the early stages of product definition to help shape products that meet customer needs and technical requirements. Stay current with emerging hardware technologies, industry standards, and best practices to influence future product designs.   Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Extensive experience in RF hardware system design Strong knowledge of RF system budgeting, including link budgets, power budgets, and thermal analysis. Hands-on expertise with RF and hardware development tools, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and RF simulation. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards for wireless communication systems. Proven ability to perform detailed design reviews, analyze test data, and drive quality improvements in hardware design processes. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
