About the Role: As a Senior RF Design Engineer, you will join Airspan’s dynamic and highly experienced team, working to expand our capabilities in small signal RF design for radio base stations that support multiple radio access technologies, including 5G, 4G/LTE, and GSM. Airspan’s hardware portfolio is built for scalability and reliability, with over 50,000 5G radios and 700,000 4G radios deployed in live networks worldwide. Our solutions meet the demands of public and private networks with unmatched efficiency and performance, spanning dense urban deployments and expansive industrial applications. With proven success in Open RAN interoperability and conformance testing, Airspan continues to innovate and deliver cutting-edge wireless solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop small signal RF circuits for radio base stations supporting multiple radio access technologies, including 5G, 4G/LTE, and GSM. Conduct requirements analysis and define system specifications. Perform frequency planning, link budget analysis, and component selection to meet performance and compliance standards. Utilize advanced schematic capture and PCB layout tools for hardware design. Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization activities in the lab. Perform detailed RF lab measurements, including S-parameters, noise figure, gain, and linearity characterization. Support production teams to ensure smooth transfer to manufacturing, troubleshooting production issues as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and systems engineering, to deliver integrated solutions. Stay up-to-date with emerging RF technologies and industry trends to influence future product designs. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. Proven track record in RF product design, with experience spanning the entire lifecycle from requirements analysis to mass production. Advanced proficiency in RF design tools and techniques, including schematic capture and PCB layout. Hands-on expertise with RF lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and high-speed oscilloscopes. Experience designing radios that support multiple radio access technologies (e.g., 5G, 4G/LTE, GSM). Demonstrated ability to perform frequency planning, link budget analysis, and detailed characterization of RF circuits. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
