Airspan provided its 5G Open RAN suite of software and hardware solutions, supporting COCUS’s goal to transform port operations through automation and digitalization. The private 5G network allows for innovative use cases such a remote-controlled cranes, autonomous trucks, and real-time rail traffic analysis, significantly boosting operational efficiency.
The Port of Trier faced challenges in digitizing its vast and diverse operations, including the need for real-time communication and autonomous vehicle control. Traditional networks could not provide the reliable, low-latency connections required for port logistics. In addition, the existing infrastructure lacked the necessary integration for modern automation technologies.
Airspan’s 5G Open RAN solutions, integrated with COCUS’s Campus2Go private network, enables seamless data transmission and real-time operations management.
